An introductory encounter with the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola

One of the giant fathers of spiritual direction is St. Ignatius of Loyola. St. Ignatius developed a powerful programme known as the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises. The Exercises, written around 1522-1524, have helped thousands of people find their purpose and vocation in their personal and professional life.

This programme offers a taste of the incredible contribution the spiritual exercises can add to the spiritual life of each person, in their relationship with God and with others. It runs for four weeks and involves a weekly one-hour-long group meeting.  Additionally, each participant is encouraged to engage 5-10 minutes each day in reading and reflecting on the theme presented in the weekly group meeting.

About Dr. Mary Allen OFS  

Mary completed her PhD at the University of Canterbury (NZ) specialising in group dynamics.  After spending some years as an academic, she felt called to ministry. She served in various ministry/pastoral and spiritual roles, and currently serving as a university chaplain and spiritual director. Her personal spiritual journey was greatly inspired by the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises, and so now, she would like to share this incredible grace with others.

Note:

This is a retreat programme over 4 weeks with one session per week, Friday, 3 - 4pm (incl. hot drinks/snacks). 

The registration is for the whole programme and the retreat fee covers all 4 retreat sessions.

You have the option to book in at Sister Ev earlier for an additional 

• Day Stay, from 9am ($30, with your own room)  or 
• Overnight Stay (from 6pm the day before, with your own room, $85 main house, $75 Annex) 

This would be self-catered and self-guided. More info on this will be sent to you upon registration.

Our fees are set low to encourage participation in our programme and ministry, and do not represent the true cost of the upkeep and maintenance of this wonderful historic house.
