Easter Silent Retreat
Time & Location
About the Event
Sister Eveleen Retreat House invites you to join them on their first silent Easter retreat, starting on the morning of Good Friday and finishing after lunch on Easter Sunday. Over the weekend we'll use contemplative prayer, writing, art, and music to fully immerse ourselves in the Easter story and our own journey with Christ. This retreat will appeal to those looking for a quiet, creative, and more reflective Easter experience. Your hosts will be SERH director Eddie O'Connor and Aprile Denise (see below for more details).
To register, please book a ticket through the link below. You'll be invoiced for the cost of the retreat after registration (ignore the $0 when purchasing a ticket).
About the hosts
Eddie O’Connor is the director of Sister Eveleen House and a freelance writer. In 2020 Eddie both completed a Master’s of Writing and began his journey at SERH. He’s particularly interested in how we can revive ancient forms of faith and art in ways that make sense to the modern world. Eddie run a contemplative daily office, three times a day, as part of his role as director of SERH.
April Denise has been living and working in Indonesia for the past 38 years, where she currently heads an Indonesian Children's Literacy Foundation for the development of early grade reading programmes, Indonesian picture books and children's libraries. She has been involved over many years in a Christian contemplation group in Bali, where they regularly use expressive art and music in their worship, especially through lectio divina, a contemplative practice with its Christian roots in the Benedictine tradition.
