Silent Mid-Winter Christmas Retreat

Come and join Sr Eveleen House for a Christmas celebration in the season it was intended. This silent retreat will focus on participation in the Christmas story and what the birth of Christ means to us in our individual lives. Retreatants can expect a balance between guided contemplative and creative activities, along with periods of individual reflection. Your hosts will be Eddie O'Connor and Alumine Andrew (see below for details)

About the hosts

Eddie O’Connor is the director of Sister Eveleen House and writer. In 2020 Eddie completed a Master’s of Writing and took on the role of Director at SERH. He’s particularly interested in how we can revive ancient forms of faith and art in ways that make sense to the modern world. Eddie run a contemplative daily office, three times a day, as part of his role as director of SERH.  

Aluminé Andrew has been interested in the contemplative life for many years, and how we can be modern contemplatives! Based in Sumner for the last 20 years, she has led retreats and is a Spiritual Director. Her passion is to engage in all forms of prayer and meditation, learning and encouraging others to try out different ways to pray, and connect with God. Alumine is a photographer, pursues slow textile arts, is an avid reader and has a book review blog. Creativity is really important in her life, from cooking a meal right through to spinning wool or climbing a mountain
