St Hildegard of Bingen: Weekend Silent Retreat

St Hildegard of Bingen was a remarkable visionary, writer, composer, and Benedictine abbess who lived at the beginning of the 12th century. She was a woman of many talents, writing numerous texts on theology, botany, and medicine in a time when these subjects were considered an exclusively male domain. She also composed music and poetry that is still considered some of the finest in the history of the church. In this weekend retreat, we will explore some of the creative works of St Hildegard of Bingen and how we might bring sacred creativity into our own lives.

Dates: Friday, June 30, 7 pm - Sunday, July 2, 1:30 pm (approx)

Cost (including all meals): $240. If you'd like to attend but the cost is prohibitive, please get in touch as we may be able to assist you.

About the host:

Aluminé Andrew has been interested in the contemplative life for many years, and how we can be modern contemplatives! Based in Sumner for the last 20 years, she has led retreats and is a Spiritual Director. Her passion is to engage in all forms of prayer and meditation, learning and encouraging others to try out different ways to pray, and connect with God. Aluminé is a photographer, pursues slow textile arts, is an avid reader and has a book review blog. Creativity is really important in her life, from cooking a meal right through to spinning wool or climbing a mountain

Payment Details: You will be sent an invoice for a $60 deposit shortly after registration, with the balance due closer to the time of retreat.
